The infamously questionable economy of Canal St.

The parts of Chinatown particularly near Canal St. can feel pretty touristy/hokey—particularly with all those hokey tourists walking around and all of that Times Square-esque signage. I enjoyed this wet paint sign (on Mullberry, just north of Canal) because it said—yes, people actually live here. And yes, they have ugly generic typography too.

Man and a market, Mott St.

A market/store on Mott St. I enjoy that—like the rest of Chinatown—every square inch has got something packed in it, resulting in a bright, colorful array of organized chaos.

Even the garage door (I think on Elizabeth St.) gets in on the action.

Food market, I think on Spring St. This was my favorite shot of the day.
